Peter F. Drucker, in Management Challenges for the 21st Century presents a method to discover strengths and weaknesses: the feedback analysis. This is a very simple method, inspired from Jesuits and Calvinists in the 16th century. Each time you make a key decision, record the results you expect to achieve from this decision. Then, 9 to 12 months later, compare the results with your expectations.
br> I think a weblog is certainly a powerful feedback analysis tool.  And, because it is a public space, it adds a new dimension: you are somewhat committed, and it becomes a huge motivation factor to meet your expectations.
