blogging will not teach you to write
2005-10-13
Blogging is a good writing exercise. But it lacks (constructive) feedback.
I'm not talking about blogging lacking feedback per se. But it lacks editorial feedback. When was the last time a reader of your blog wrote in to suggest how to improve your writing style?
Having an editor go over your text and suggesting improvements is an absolutly inspiring experience, especially if you have an editor like Elin Sjursen of Eastgate. Elin has been very helpfull and constructiveand the end result will be far smoother. I can only recommend trying the editorial process!
[update] Elin responds with some good points about what blogging WILL teach in terms of writing: writing for an audience.
And now I need to watch out as not to correct those typos she points out :) Won't want to confuse anybody...
