working offline for an online world 2005-1-4 (238 words)
My current net situation forces me to do a lot of my work offline and upload and send only once or twice a day. These last weeks that meant I got only very little of my real work done. It was simply eassier to not do those things than try and improvise around the hurdles.

After thinking and planning my new role as workshop and seminar coordinator I was recently confronted with the classical 'tell me what it is' kind of question from a complete outsider. I started mumbling and trying to explain the unexplainable. Why is it so much easier to preach to the converted than to tell new people what it's all about?
... more...healing places 2005-1-6 (279 words)
No, I'm not talking about places of healing here. There are places that can heal people, and then there are places that need healing. Places where much bad has happened, places that further strife and unrest.

This could easily become my shortest post in this space. The un-converted I was referring to earlier are in fact not. Un-converted that is. Talking to the person who was the basis for my earlier ramble some days later lead to the funny fact that she is actually an active Feng Shui believer and fights similar prejustices as I do. Well, something about this place makes me giddy maybe....

I'm in the process of fouling up my four-year-old son's sense of reality. I recently got myself the 'The Future Is Wild' DVD. It's a speculative look into (possible) future directions of evolution in 5, 100 and 200 million years (or was the english term 'billion' for the german 'million'?), done in the style of the BBC dinosaur series.

It all comes together now. Taking Set Godin's "So, what will it take to succeed?" and a recent post on gapingvoid, a new idea formed in my head [I'll get to that later]. This is what the 'Tool for Thought' meme is about. Combinig or connecting two things that at first glance seem unconnected. I guess that's what creative people are all about, and what makes blogging so valuable. And now if we have tools that can further that effect...
